“Way of Escape” 2000
While working on a torn paper collage, I decided to look at the composition upside down. To my surprise, I discovered what looked like the opening of a cave. I was reminded of a scripture that has always encouraged me.
I Corinthians 10:13 states, “No temptation has taken you but that which is common to man, but God who is faithful, will with the test, make a way of escape that you may be able to bear it.”
This piece portrays the moment of relief when, hopelessly lost inside a “dark cave”, the viewer suddenly finds a “Way of Escape”.
