“Icy Path to the Bend” 2007
“Icy Path to the Bend” is a mix of watercolor, collage and colored pencil on illustration board.
It began as a larger watercolor which was cropped and put to rest for a year.
When I began working on it again, the composition bothered me, so I cropped it again, used colored pencil to create a lead into the distance and added a collage of magazine pictures and colors.
Colored pencil was used to add details, delicate branches and the orange hillside that peeks through the snowy trees on the right.
The sky is the only remaining part of the original painting.
