“Limestone Quarry” 2004
This experimental watercolor on illustration board was created using complementary colors of orange and blue. These were dispersed in random directions to form a rocky foreground.
After tissue paper was added to the rocks and along the top of the panel, purples and blues were painted into the negative spaces to suggest trees in the background.
A visitor to the studio suggested the name “Limestone Quarry”.
